Wi-Fi Irrigation Control

How does Hydrawise detect faulty wiring or solenoids?

Hydrawise constantly monitors the current flowing to the solenoid or valve as each zone is watering. If the current is too high, there may be a faulty solenoid or a wiring short. If an issue is detected, Hydrawise will automatically shut down the zone and log a warning in the controller’s event log. Sometimes a wire in your irrigation system will break or a solenoid will go "open circuit." Hydrawise detects this as well, and will log an alert in your controller’s event log. You can use Hydrawise’s current detection functionality to discover irrigation faults before you notice dead plants. Current detection is included free of charge with the controller. If you have a Hydrawise flow meter, this feature can also be used to detect changes in water placed on each zone.
